Smoothie King Singapore debuts at The Centrepoint

According to a release, Smoothie King will officially open its first store in Singapore at The Centrepoint, Orchard Rd on 12 December, 2012.

Established in 1973, Smoothie King currently has over 700 stores across the US, South Korea and other countries, building its brand on providing consumers with a wide range of fresh, healthy smoothies and meals.

Smoothie King plans to open between 25 and 30 stores in Singapore over the next three years. Singapore is the initial focus of the company’s aggressive global expansion plan and is the first market outside of South Korea it is investing in company owned stores. It is currently evaluating 10 sites in Singapore and it hopes to open as stores by the end of 2013.

“Singapore is an important market for us and we believe there is a huge appetite for the healthy smoothies and food for which Smoothie King has become healthy for,” says President and CEO of Smoothie King, Mr. Wan Kim. “We see many people in Singapore opting for healthier lifestyles where exercising and eating right are increasingly important to them. Healthy living and eating has been a hallmark of the Smoothie King brand since day one.”

Smoothie King will be serving 27 different types of smoothies in Singapore that can be customised and enhanced according to customers’ preferences. Its smoothies fall into three categories – Refreshing, Slim & Lite and Nutritious Meals. All 12 ounce (354ml) smoothies are less than 250 calories. Customers can add Enhancers to their smoothies, with a choice of Antioxidant, Diet Down, Energy, Fibre, Multi Vitamin, Muscle Builder, Probiotic, or Collagen for an additional dollar.

In addition to smoothies, Smoothie King will also be offering a wide range of freshly made, healthy wraps, soft tacos, and salads. These include varieties such as Chicken Breast & Garlic Aioli Soft Taco Wrap, Teriyaki Chicken Breast Wrap and Citrus Walnut Salad.

The Smoothie King KoreaFTW competition - The easiest way to win a trip to Korea

Fans of Smoothie King’s Facebook page can win a 3-night, 4-day trip for two to Korea simply by guessing the number of blueberries inside a cup that can be found at https://apps.facebook.com/koreaftw. On 21 December, 2012, the first correct or closest eligible entry will be announced. A second prize of a S$100 Smoothie King voucher will also be awarded. The competition is only open to Singapore residents aged 16 years and older. Terms and conditions apply.

Smoothie King Student Competition

At the Grand Opening, a lucky draw will be held for Singapore students to win a party at Smoothie King for themselves and 20 of their friends. All they need to do is come down to The Centrepoint on 12.12.12 by 11.30am and fill in an entry form. To be eligible, entrants must be a resident of Singapore, studying at a Singapore school, be aged between 16 and 22, produce valid ID and be present at the launch. Entries open at 11am on the day and close at 11.45am. Terms and conditions apply.
