Singapore lifts travel advisory against Japan
Singapore's Foreign Ministry lifted its advisory to Singaporeans against non-essential travel to Japan that was issued in March this year.
"We no longer advise against non-essential travel to Japan," the ministry's spokesman said in a short statement.
However, Singaporeans should refrain from travel within a radius of 80 kilometers from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, it said.
It noted that the International Atomic Energy Agency continues to maintain its assessment that the overall situation at the nuclear power plant remains "very serious."
They should also avoid traveling to the coastal areas of Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate prefectures "as these areas continue to suffer disruptions to residential, business and transport infrastructure," it said.
