IDA awards Rednano call-for-collaboration under Digital Concierge Programme

Company shares its rich directory content with companies offering mobile services for retail and F&B sectors.

Local directory search engine Rednano.sg has been awarded a Call-For-Collaboration by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) under the Digital Concierge Programme to support those setting up mobile services for two major sectors in Singapore: retail and food and beverage industries, according to a Rednano report.

As part of IDA’s Digital Concierge Programme, rednano.sg will provide players in the retail, food and beverage industries with directory listings, so that their customers can locate the businesses they promote.

Directory listings, with accurate and updated information such as website and physical addresses, contact details and location maps, are costly to assemble. Rednano.sg, already offers these to people who use its www.rednano.sg online portal and Rednano SMS 33333 and Rednano Locate mobile services. In addition, it enhances these details with information such as news and reviews from the Singapore Press Holdings group, parent of SPH Search Pte Ltd, the company behind rednano.sg.

By opening selected listings to other players in the mobile arena, rednano.sg will make it easier for them to create additional innovative and compelling products for the two sectors.

Officially, rednano.sg will become a "Shared Business Directory Provider" in the IDA Digital Concierge Programme. “We are pleased that SPH Search will offer rich directory content to companies who wish to offer mobile services for the retail and F&B sectors, as part of our effort under the Digital Concierge Programme to catalyse the development of innovative mobile services in Singapore, Besides bringing greater convenience to consumers, the Digital Concierge programme will also spur more businesses to embrace the mobile channel as a means of reaching their customers,” said Mr Tan Eng Pheng, Senior Director, Industry Cluster Group, IDA.

Mr Paul Jansen, Chief Executive Officer of SPH Search, added: "We hope that our sharing will enable more players to enter the mobile market and make it more efficient in meeting the selection and purchasing needs of consumers. This will undoubtedly boost business in the two sectors. This virtuous circle will benefit everyone.”

Ms Shirley Tan, Director, Business Development (Mobile) of SPH Search, said: "Whether you are an existing player who wants to enhance existing mobile services or a start-up planning to offer a mobile service in either of the two sectors, you can tap on Rednano's rich directory through a monthly, yearly or per data access licensing arrangement or revenue-share model. We know from first-hand experience how fast mobile is developing and are going to be quite flexible in our commercial arrangements. So we invite interested parties to see what we have."
