Drone startup clinches undisclosed funding from Royal Vopak NV
It will be used on expanding across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Singapore-based drone technology startup Performance Rotors has raised an undisclosed funding from Dutch multinational Royal Vopak NV, an announcement revealed.
The funds will be used on expanding to overseas markets, particularly across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
The Singapore-based drone solutions company, which specialises in confined and inaccessible spaces, concluded its investment deal last week with Vopak. In addition to overseas expansion, this round of pre-series A funds will also be used to scale the company’s team and expand its offering of customised drone solutions, said Performance Rotors’ chief executive officer, Keith Ng.
Performance Rotors has already commercialised its drone solutions in Vopak and other oil and gas majors in Singapore and is gearing up for other missions in Europe.
Founded in November 2016, Performance Rotors began with building façade inspections and has since expanded their services. They also specialise in inspections of bulk storage tanks, ship cargo holds and other hazardous locations, previously unreachable by commercially available drones.
