SGX appoints Rod Banus as Senior Advisor for Commodities

In his new role, Mr Banus will advise the exchange market on its efforts to tap the rising global interest in Asian commodities.

Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced on Tuesday the appointment of Mr Rod Banus as Senior Advisor for Commodities, an SGX release said.

Mr Banus comes from Barclays Capital, where he was previously Head of Listed Product, Prime Services Asia, and was responsible for building and maintaining client access to Asia and managing the bank’s relationship with Asian exchanges and regulators.

SGX said Mr Banus’ 27-year career in the financial industry included options and futures trading, connectivity execution and operations.

“SGX is committed to strengthening its commodities suite and meeting growing investor appetite for Asian commodity products. Rod brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge which we believe will enhance SGX’s position as the Asian Gateway for commodities,” said Mr Gan Seow Ann, President of SGX.
