MediaCorp appoints Wee Way Kiat Executive Vice President

Way Kiat brings in 25 years of IT, consultancy and management experience as EVP Technology.

MediaCorp announced the appointment of Wee Way Kiat as Executive Vice President, Technology with effect from 30 September 2010, according to a MediaCorp report.

Way Kiat brings with him some 25 years of IT, consultancy and management experience from multi-national and local corporations. Prior to joining MediaCorp he was Managing Director/Senior Vice President for Asia in Ascent Media, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ascent Media Corporation listed on Nasdaq.

In his role as EVP Technology, Way Kiat will report to CEO Lucas Chow and oversee information technology, engineering and transmission activities in MediaCorp; as well as 1-Net Pte Ltd, the broadband exchange offering broadband connectivity, hosting and IT managed services. Way Kiat will also lead in the new and emerging technologies front to help support and grow the business in Singapore and beyond.
