Chart of the Day: Over 9,000 home units set to launch in 2020

Developers are likely to be unfazed by the pandemic.

This chart from EDMUND TIE reveals that over 9,000 new units of private homes are set to be launched in 2020, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Of these launches, over 5,000 units are of 99-year leasehold tenure.

The rest of central region (RCR) at the city fringe has the least number of launches in the pipeline this year, with an estimated total of 1,855 units. Meanwhile, the core central region (CCR) captured the most number of upcoming launches with about 4,500 units.

“Notwithstanding COVID-19 concerns, the number of new sales launches is projected to stay consistent with several projects slated to launch from end February 2020. Whilst developers are assessing the situation, they are likely to proceed as planned with the launches should the current situation in Singapore not deteriorate,” the report stated.
