Colliers International appoints Tang Chee Charn as new head

Hel will take over from Dr Tan Kok Hengwho will be leaving Colliers International at the end of the month.

According to Colliers International, Mr Tang's new appointment as Head of Real Estate Management Services Department in Singapore, will take effect on May 1, 2011.

Mr Tang has 22 years of real estate experience in property and tenancy management, landlord-and-tenant representation, sales and leasing as well as investment sales covering the office, industrial, residential and retail sectors.

He joined Colliers international in 2007 as a Director undertaking business development and overseeing the operation works for Real Estate Management Services department. Under his business development role, he has successfully secured property and facilities management appointments with the likes of REIT and property fund clients such as AIMS AMP Capital Industrial REIT (formally Macarthurcook Indurstrial REIT), AMP Capital Investors, AMB Property Corporation, Union Investment and SEB, corporate clients such as BHP Billiton, Eurochem Corporation, Crescendas Group, Premier Corporation, Hong Leong Finance, and Chui Teng Enterprises Pte Ltd, residential developers like Capitaland, MCL Land, Lippo Group and CLSA Capital Partners as well as various management corporations.

Before joining Colliers International, Mr Tang spent 11 years operating his own real estate agency business. He founded Optimuz Real Estate Consultant in 2001 with three other partners where he was in charge of agency works for the business and also managed a portfolio of properties in Singapore for a Hong Kong company.

Prior to Optimuz, he set up Prime Asset Property Consultants in 1996, focusing on residential sales and leasing. He also spent four years with Brooke Hiller Parker heading its property management department. Mr Tang began his real estate career in London with Granby Martin Chartered Surveyors managing the real estate portfolio for property funds as well as corporate and individual landlords.

Mr Tang, who is 47 years old, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Estate Management from the University of Ulster, United Kingdom.
