Behind the mask: Iceberg set to reveal identity after release of third report

It defended its anonymity in a statement.

Iceberg Research is set to give more information on its identity after it releases its third report on commodity trader Noble Group.

Iceberg’s anonymity has been a key criticism against its hard-hitting reports versus Noble. Noble had previously claimed that a disgruntled ex-employee is behind Iceberg.

“We have stayed anonymous because we want people to focus on the strength of the arguments. It does not matter who is behind Iceberg if the arguments are solid. Everything can be checked: we work with Noble’s public financial information. People would not listen to our arguments if they were not valid,” stated Iceberg.

Iceberg also reiterated that it has no short position on Noble, claiming that it has been acting as a whistleblower and not a short seller.

The group also hinted that Noble may not be the last of its targets, stating that it will have short positions for its next projects.

Iceberg did not provide a release date for its third report.
