SilkAir well-ahead in short-haul as low-cost airlines languish in Singapore

LCC penetration in the city-state has stagnated.

Singapore Airlines’ SilkAir continues to do better in the city-state, but the success is less of what they are doing and more of how low-cost carriers have slowed down in Singapore.

According to CIMB, Singapore’s LCC penetration has stagnated at the 31% level.

CIMB adds that Tigerair ,Jetstar Asia and other LCCs growing their capacity from Singapore only very slowly.
