Here's why flying business class is way cheaper in Singapore than in other prime Asian cities
It was only ranked fifth costliest in the region.
Flying business class has gotten more expensive in Asia, but Singapore is amongst the cities bucking the trend.
According to a price index released by a recent Julius Baer Wealth Report, there was an average increase of +4.5% (+4.1% in US dollar terms) in prices for business class flights from specific Asian cities to London/New York from 2015-2016.
The Julius Baer Wealth Report is the same study which ranked Singapore as the second most expensive city in Asia.
The most expensive city to fly business class is Taipei, which costs US$7,782. This is followed by Seoul (US$US$7,609), Hong Kong (US$7,223), and Shanghai (US$7,191).
Singapore, meanwhile, is on the fifth place with outbound flights via business class costing US$5,860 or S$7,916. This is 0.8% cheaper than last year, in local currency terms.
The cheapest cities for a round–trip full fare business class flight to New York and London are Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Mumbai.
