SIA in talks with Jeju Air over possible stake acquisition

It’s investing in another LCC.

Singapore Airlines has confirmed reports that it is in talks with South Korean low-cost carrier Jeju Air over a possible shareholding purchase.

“Singapore Airlines wishes to confirm that discussions have taken place on a possible equity investment in the airline. These discussions may not result in a transaction,” SIA stated in a release to the SGX.

Jeju Air is mulling an initial public offering in the fourth quarter of the year. SIA assured shareholders that it will make further public announcements as necessary.
