Spotlight shines on underdeveloped Woodlands in latest land sales programme

The town’s transformation is rapidly gaining pace.

The development momentum in the presently under-developed Woodlands Square is steadily gaining traction, after the government has included one commercial site in Woodlands Square in the Reserve List of the1H15 Government Land Sales Programme (GLS).

The site will be available on June 2015 and can yield 60,030 square meters of commercial space, along with 285 residential units.

According to Colliers, the introduction of a new commercial site in Woodlands Square was expected in order to keep the development momentum going in the area.

“This newly-released site is adjacent to the recently sold site at Woodlands Avenue 5/Woodlands Square and is situated within immediate walking distance from the soon-to-be developed MRT interchange station plying both the North-South Line and the Thomson-East Coast Line. It is likely that interested developers will trigger this new Woodlands Square site for open tender, given its advantageous site attributes,” noted Colliers.
