Professional skill upgrades to come in modules soon

It would be present in jobs across 23 industries.

Professionals can expect to upgrade their skills through learning from "bite-sized modules" in the future, Senior Parliamentary Secretary Low Yen Ling said in a speech at Singapore Association for Private Education's (SAPE) conference.

These courses are expected to be relevant to around 23 industries' needs, as mapped out in Industry Transformation Maps (ITM).

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) introduced this in 2016 to "sustain growth and competitiveness of Singapore's economy and industries."

Low added that there is a need for educators to customise and curate skills-based courses that are attractive to adult learners. These courses should be "bite-sized modules" and engaging.
