KKR appoints Lim Hwee Hua as senior advisor

Mrs. Lim held various offices in the government of Singapore, retiring from public service as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Graduating from Raffles Institution and as an Overseas Merit Scholar, Mrs. Lim received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics/Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 1981. She obtained a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles, in 1989.

Mrs. Lim began her career as an Administrative Officer in the Ministries of Finance, Education and Law. In 1989, she joined Swiss Bank Corporation as an investment analyst and moved on to Jardine Fleming in 1992, where she served as Head of Research and Director of Business Development. In 2000, she joined Temasek Holdings first as Managing Director of Corporate Stewardship and later, Managing Director of Strategic Relations.

Mrs. Lim was elected Member of Parliament for the Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency in both the 1997 and 2001 Singapore General Elections. Mrs. Lim was appointed Minister of State for Finance and Transport in 2004.

In 2006, Mrs. Lim was elected Member of Parliament for the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency. She was promoted to Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport in 2008. In 2009, Mrs. Lim become the first woman minister when she was promoted to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and concurrently to Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for Transport.
