HDB, NCS consortium ink $10m contract to develop Smart Hub

It bagged two other partnerships at World Cities Summit.

Singapore’s Housing and Development Board (HDB) is on the prowl for ways to bring HDB living to new heights, as the organisation sealed the deal on three partnerships at the World Cities Summit.

According to HDB’s media release, it has inked a $10m contract with the NCS consortium. This sealed a four-year partnership to develop a digital master plan and Smart Hub to guide HDB’s efforts to boost liveability, efficiency, safety and sustainability for HDB towns and estates.

HDB also forged a research collaboration with 3M Singapore to explore new ways to cushion the impact of noise in Singapore’s high-rise, high-density environment.

Lastly, HDB inked a memorandum of understanding with the International Federation for Housing and Planning (IFHP), Eastern Regional Organisation for Planning and Human Settlement (EAROPH), Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) and Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC).

Under the MOU, the parties will organise an International Planning and Housing Conference (IPHC) in Singapore in late-2017. The conference intends to bring together a network of housing and planning experts and professionals across the globe, facilitating learning and exchange of ideas.
