Food processing/ manufacturing firms increase by 8%

There are 2,171 food processing/manufacturing establishments in Singapore.

The number of licenses for retail and non-retail food establishments in Singapore has grown to 53,471 in 2023, the Singapore Food Agency reported.

Food Shops accounted for the majority of these licenses (22,747), followed by food stalls (14,178) and National Environment Agency (NEA) hawker stalls (13,430).

Supermarkets accounted for 691 of the licenses issued.

Within the non-retail food establishments, food processing/manufacturing led, with 2,171 licenses issued.

The food processing/manufacturing establishments in Singapore rose 8% in 2023. 

Amidst increased applications in 2023, SFA introduced a simplified application process, enabling applicants to schedule pre-licensing inspection appointments via an online portal.
