Lian Beng wins $234.7m contract for NTUC's fresh food distribution centre

It is expected to begin construction in August 2019.

Lian Beng Group announced that it has secured a $234.7m contract for the construction of a food distribution centre for NTUC Fairprice.

It covers the construction of a 7-storey ramp-up building with a 40-metre-high automatic storage and retrieval system, multi-temperature cold rooms, and ancillary office and facilities. NTU Fairprice will use the development as a centre for the receiving, sorting, storage and distribution of fresh food to its retail outlets.

With the contract, the construction company’s order book is boosted to $1.5b.

The project will commence in August and will end by July 2021.
