NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd wins Digital - Training and Development Award at SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2024

It was honoured for its significant contribution towards enhancing Singapore's tech workforce readiness.

NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd (NTUC LHUB) has been lauded in the Digital - Training and Development category at the SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2024. This accolade is a testament to the company's innovative approach to bridging the gap between the demand for tech talent and the aggregation of skills within Singapore's workforce.

Singapore's workforce is recognised globally for its technological adeptness, according to a recent report by Insead. This sentiment is reflected in NTUC LHUB’s 2023 Future Jobs and Skills report where it reveals whilst a majority of employees are comfortable working alongside Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technologies, 31% of employees are concerned about their digital fluency and proficiency.

To tackle this challenge head-on, NTUC LHUB launched the NTUC LearningHub Tech Talent Academy (NTUC LHUB TTA) in January 2024. This pioneering academy is designed to source, train, and place workers into tech roles, creating an integrated ecosystem that is the first of its kind in Singapore for tech talent.

The NTUC LHUB TTA, in collaboration with strategic partners such as the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), and Workforce Singapore (WSG), signifies a major step towards fulfilling national imperatives and securing Singapore’s position as a global technology leader. The initiative is supported by a robust network including NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and PERSOLKELLY Singapore Pte Ltd for sourcing and placement, with NTUC LHUB for training and together with the Tech Talent Assembly (TTAB) focusing on curriculum development and learner mentorship.

Whilst the NTUC LHUB TTA aims to integrate the demand and supply of tech talent, NTUC LHUB also recognises the need for all workers to acquire essential and emerging technology skills. With that, it announces the launch of the ‘X for Everyone’ series of courses under the NTUC LHUB TTA, to democratise learning of such foundational tech skills. The courses, which encompass Cloud Computing, Generative AI, and Cybersecurity Awareness, are tailored to provide learners with a basic understanding of emerging technologies, including the key characteristics, concepts, and business value, to support both workers in the workplace and communities at large.

This award and the initiatives unveiled by NTUC LHUB align with Singapore's National AI Strategy 2.0, aiming to triple the number of AI practitioners in the country. By addressing the urgent need for digital fluency and proficiency in managing emerging technologies, NTUC LearningHub is not just fostering a future-ready workforce but is also shaping the landscape of digital training and development in Singapore and beyond.
