US President Joe Biden nominated Jonathan Eric Kaplan as the US ambassador in Singapore, the White House announced.

Kaplan is the chairperson and CEO of FishSix Restaurant Corporation. He previously served as chairperson and CEO of Pure Digital Technologies and president and CEO of Sega.com.

He also currently chairs the non-profit organisation, EducationSuperHighway.

The Ministry of Manpower reported the tightened measures led to declines in the food and beverage services and the retail trade.

Enterprises, particularly those in retailers and food and beverage sectors, have extended discounts, vouchers, and freebies.

This is intended as an “additional encouragement” to individuals that have been inoculated by the vaccine.
