Julius Baer hires Eddy Tai as Asia Head IT

Eddy Tai's role in Asia & Middle East strengthens bank's regard to Singapore as Asia hub.

Bank Julius Baer has appointed Eddy Tai as Head IT Asia & Middle East with immediate effect. In this new role, he will support the bank’s development of Asia as its second home market and Singapore as a hub for back office for Asia & Middle East.

"With Eddy’s extensive experience in the region, we look forward to his contribution in this strategic area of information technology that will not only impact on how we work but also our delivery of service excellence to clients."

Based in Singapore, Eddy reports locally to Markus Kobler, and functionally to Jochen Jansen, Head IT International.

Eddy has wide ranging IT technical, project management and leadership experience. He joined from KDI Limited, a consultancy company focusing on implementing business best practices. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with UBS Hong Kong and Singapore. Eddy holds a First Class Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong.

Asia is set to become the second home market for Julius Baer. The bank continues to expand in order to capitalise on the opportunities that exist in the Asian private banking market.
