Connect@Changi welcomes first set of overseas travellers

The facility aims to resume businesses amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Connect@Changi facility has welcomed the first batch of business travellers since the opening of its bookings in February.

The facility, which currently has 150 guest rooms and 40 meeting rooms, allows business travellers to conduct meetings without the need for quarantine. It will gradually expand in phases, reaching its maximum capacity of about 1,300 business travellers.

Connect@Changi is part of Singapore’s efforts to resume businesses amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. It is developed by a Singapore consortium led by Temasek.

Amongst the first to check-in is CEO Olivier Leroux of Oasis Smart Sim, a Singapore-based company providing certified sim solutions.

Leroux flew in from France and will be staying in the facility for five days, according to Connect@Changi.

“I am very pleased that the team at Connect@Changi is arranging everything to make my arrival and stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. Given that we have operations in Singapore, I need to be able to travel to conduct face-to-face meetings with the team based in Singapore, as well as process some paperwork,” Leroux said.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat graced the launch of the facility on 18 February.
