Expression of interest for Jurong Lake District integrated tourism development to be launched
The exercise will close in early November 2019.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) eyes an Expression of Interest (EOI) exercise for an integrated tourism development in the Jurong Lake District, senior minister for trade and industry Chee Hong Tat revealed.
The development at the Jurong Lake District will have attractions, hotel and other complementary lifestyle offerings such as F&B and retail.
“With its unique waterfront environment and location adjacent to the new Jurong Lake Gardens and the new Science Centre, we envision this area to be transformed into a key attraction from 2026,” the minister said.
“I liken the Jurong Lake District to an area like Odaiba in Tokyo, which used to be a series of fort islands off Tokyo but has since been transformed into a popular entertainment and shopping destination,” added STB chief executive Keith Tan.
The EOI exercise will close in early November 2019, the minister added.
