Singapore ranks highest in Asia in global talent cities index
Savills said the city-state remains a global command hub for capital, talent, and decision-making.
Singapore ranked third globally and highest in Asia in the Savills 2026 Global Talent Cities Index, behind London and New York.
The index evaluates leading global business hubs based on five pillars: talent pool, liveability, competitive landscape, economic resilience, and cost efficiency, including salary levels and real estate costs.
Savills said Singapore remains a global command hub for capital, talent, and decision-making, supported by its deep talent pool, corporate ecosystem, venture capital networks, and high-quality office space suitable for global headquarters.
Singapore was classified under the “global business leaders” archetype, which covers cities that host corporate headquarters, leadership teams, and client-facing functions.
However, Savills said Singapore faces challenges such as rising talent costs, high operating expenses, intense competition for skilled professionals, and difficulties in attracting and retaining talent.
Alan Cheong, executive director of Savills Research and Consultancy, said Singapore’s strengths in protecting intellectual property and providing a safe environment for expatriates have attracted multinational companies to set up regional bases.
He added that Singapore’s ecosystem has grown over the years by attracting talent across industries, with professionals using the city as a platform to serve the wider region.
Savills said companies are increasingly adopting “talent-first” location strategies, choosing cities where they can access skills aligned with their business needs.
The firm said demand for prime office space is expected to continue in top-ranked global cities, including Singapore, as businesses maintain hubs for senior decision-makers, clients, capital, and talent.
