1 in 2 Singapore workers lack trusted workplace relationships

Nearly half of Singapore workers also do not feel that employers support their psychological health and safety.

More than half or 55% of Singapore workers lack trusted workplace relationships which leads to feelings of isolation and loneliness, according to the TELUS Mental Health Index.

Over 45% of employees doubt or are uncertain if their workplace supports speaking up about concerns without fear of punishment or humiliation. The mental health score of workers in Singapore is 62.6.

Meanwhile, 41% doubt that harassment, bullying, unhealthy conflict, and other harmful behaviours are quickly and fairly resolved in their workplace and nearly half indicate that their employer does not support their psychological health and safety.

In addition, 1 in 10 Singapore workers also do not feel valued and respected by their colleagues and are 60% more likely to admit that their mental health adversely affects their productivity at work.

Workers aged under 40 are 80% more likely than workers over 50 to lack trusted personal connections.
