SC Ventures, Fujitsu join forces for quantum computing

It will include in-house solutions development for fraud detection, amongst others.

SC Ventures and Fujitsu are partnering to launch Project Quanta, a platform aiming to help clients develop and use quantum computing applications.

The joint venture will combine Fujitsu's expertise in quantum computing with SC Ventures' knowledge of the financial industry to accelerate the development of new quantum applications.

It will also include in-house solutions development on fraud detection, risk simulations, derivative pricing, algorithmic trading, and credit decision algorithms.

Based on the collaboration with RIKEN, Fujitsu is currently developing a 1,000-qubit superconducting quantum computer, scheduled to begin operation in 2026.

Looking ahead, Fujitsu is also planning the development of a plus-10,000 physical qubit (250 logical qubit) superconducting quantum computer by 2030.
