SGX recommends Davinder Singh to be independent director

SGX also proposes the appointment of Quah Wee Ghee for the same position.

In a release, the Board of Singapore Exchange announced the proposed appointment of Mr Davinder Singh and Mr Quah Wee Ghee as non-executive and independent directors of SGX.

Mr Singh has a strong legal background, and is currently CEO of Drew & Napier LLC, a Singapore legal firm. He also has Board experience and is currently a director of Petra Foods Limited, PSA International Pte Ltd, and Singapore Technologies Engineering Pte Ltd.

Mr Quah has long experience in investment management and served as president of GIC Asset Management till June 2011. He is currently advisor to the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd Executive Committee.

SGX shareholders will vote on the proposed appointment of Mr Singh and Mr Quah at the 12th Annual General Meeting on 6 October 2011.
