Too many business cards? Why don’t you try Sansan’s business card management service?

After Singapore, this contract management company plans to expand in the APAC region.

When doing business, people exchange business cards as a way of exchanging information. However, the full potential of this encounter and exchange hasn’t been realised. Thus, piled-up business cards that weren’t fully utilised may lead to disorganised contact management within the team and missed business opportunities. Sansan wants to bring the significance of managing business cards to people, and they believe that many opportunities can be captured by doing so.

Sansan bills itself as the No.1 contact management and sharing service provider in Japan. Last year, they launched their apps in the U.S. and Singapore, boasting to have received high evaluation and positive feedbacks from Singapore clients. This year, the company continues to expand their market in the APAC region.

Sansan works by scanning the business card using a smartphone or their rental Sansan scanner. Using the scanner, you can digitize and store the information from business cards and share them with your colleagues. This essentially creates an entire contact database for the team or businesses. Furthermore, you can also turn every business card contacts into data to use in other contact or marketing services by downloading the card data.

According to Zoe Liang, Sansan’s division marketing representative, the uniqueness of Sansan is its OCR automation combined with different crowd sourcing and outsourcing platforms to get through 4 million cards a month. To avoid errors while encoding the information, two separate people have to transcribe each card identically before it gets uploaded. Because of this, Sansan has an almost ‘100% accuracy’ in transcribing information on the business card, which breaks the stereotype that business card apps are not reliable. Moreover, in order to tailor to their global users, Sansan will develop features based on users’ feedback to help them best manage their contact information.

“There are many ways how people can change the world for the better. Many resources that can be utilised to help make people’s life easier. We see potential change can be made through from day-to-day business encounter - the significance of business cards,” said Zoe.
