NCR to challenge Wincor-Nixdorf, IBM in Asia's cash register market

After a decade's absence from the cash register market in South East Asia, NCR will target the South East Asia markets with a full range of assisted and self-service retail solutions. These solutions will help large format, general retail and quick service food companies transform their customer experience by completing transactions quickly and simply through POS and self-checkout and introducing new, revenue generating, services, such as gift registry and bill payment through self-service kiosks.

NCR’s suite of POS (Point of Sale) workstations, include the NCR RealPOS™ 21, NCR RealPOS 30, NCR RealPOS 70XRT and NCR RealPOS 80XRT; designed to reduce total cost of ownership, enhance productivity and improve the customer experience. These POS workstations can fit virtually in any retail or food service operation, along with a wide selection of bar code scanners, thermal receipt printers and other POS peripheral devices.

NCR is also introducing South East Asian businesses to the NCR SelfServ™ Bill Payment and NCR’s world-leading patented two-sided thermal receipt printing technology (2ST™).

The Bill Payment kiosks enable a wide range of applications from order placement to bill payment, promotional information, gift registry and more. NCR’s durable self-service kiosk provides an exceptional customer experience that can be installed virtually anywhere needed for maximum impact: a tabletop, shelf, pole, wall or pedestal. The easy-to-use bill payment solution accepts multiple tenders – cash, check, credit cards and debit cards – and ties directly into POS.

In addition, the South East Asian retail industry will experience NCR’s 2ST printers that allow printing on both sides of the paper thereby reducing receipt paper usage by up to 45 percent. This technology not only helps retailers address their environmental objectives, but also provides shoppers with shorter, more manageable receipts, faster print times and fewer stoppages for receipt roll changes thus leading to increased customer satisfaction.
