GKE completes construction of liquefied gas carrier vessel

But it’s still looking for a chartering contract.

Logistics solutions provider GKE Corporation has completed the construction of its 83,000m3 liquefied gas carrier vessel and celebrated the ceremonial ship launching in Shanghai, China.

The group made its foray into marine & shipping logistics through its 50-50 joint venture, Steadfast (HK) Co., Ltd, to construct the 83,000m3 liquefied gas carrier vessel in 2014, for a total investment of US$67 million.

The delivery of the vessel is expected by end FY2016 (31 May 2016), after completing the sea trial. The group is currently in negotiation with several interested parties to secure a bareboat chartering contract.
