COE prices mostly flat in October's first bidding exercise

Only Cat A premiums rose.

Vehicle buyers continued to stay in the sidelines at the first Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding exercise in October.

Most COE premiums closed flat in the exercise yesterday. Premiums for Category A cars--those below 1600cc or 130 hp--rose by a marginal $602 to $56,001. 

Meanwhile, premiums for Category B cars, or those larger than 1,600cc, dropped by $1,811 to $58,190.

COE premiums in the open category, or Cat E, slipped by $2,499 to $58,801.

Premiums for goods vehicles and buses dropped by just $399 to $44,890, while premiums for motorcycles also dropped by $43 at S$6,201.
