COE prices closed with mixed results in latest bidding exercise

Category E vehicles saw the biggest premium decline of $2,499 to $36,901.

Certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums closed with mixed results in the first bidding exercise in July, an announcement revealed.

Prices for open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type, extended its decline from the last bidding exercise and recorded the largest dip of $2,499 to come in at $36,901.

Premiums for Category B vehicles, which are larger and more powerful, dropped $1,906 from the last bidding exercise to $34,000. A total of 1,390 bids were reported.

Similarly, commercial vehicles and buses under Category C saw a $412 drop in premiums, declining to $25,089 from $25,501 in the last bidding exercise.

Meanwhile, Category A, or cars up to 1600cc and 130bhp, recorded an increase of $1,590 with premiums closing at $28,589 from $26,999 in late June. It received the highest amount of bids at 1,795.

Motorcycle COEs closed at $3,081, up from $3,000 from the last bidding exercise.

A total of 5,498 bids were received in the latest bidding exercise.
