ComfortDelGro launches trial for on-demand bus service

Residents at Tanjong Rhu and Meyer Road can catch a bus via an app.

ComfortDelGro (CDG) has launched a three-month trial for on-demand bus service ComfortConnect for residents in Tanjong Rhu and Meyer Road, an announcement revealed.

No fares are collected during the trial.

The company said that if feedback is positive, ComfortConnect will be its sixth direct bus service. On-demand bus services have been launched by CDG’s sister company in Australia, CDC NSW, at Woolgoolga and Greater Western Sydney.

The on-demand bus service, which began its three-month trial on 15 August, operates from Mondays to Fridays between 10 AM and 4 PM, and serves a total of 16 physical and virtual stops, including the majority of the condominiums in the Tanjong Rhu/Meyer Road area, Parkway Parade, the Singapore Swimming Club as well as Dunman High School (Annex A).

To book a ride on the bus, passengers have to download its ComfortConnect App where they can then select a pick-up point and drop-off point, as well as indicate the date and time of pick-up before selecting book. CDG confirmed that the bus will complete the ride even if there is only a single booking.
