Here's a glimpse of Marina Square Mall's $95m revamp plan

Its dining and retail wings get a makeover.

Marina Square Shopping Mall announced a landmark TWO-PHASE redevelopment plan where works in Phase 1 are currently underway and works in Phase 2 will span over two years.

The first phase include the development of a new dining wing with an approximate cost of $15 million. The second phase is the renovation of its retail wing with a construction cost at around  $80 million. This totals the 2-phase renovation plan cost at around $95 million.

With its premium location in the major tourist and commercial Marina Bay precinct, Marina Square‟s exciting plans will cater to the shoppers, tourists and office crowds in the vicinity.

As part of the first phase, Marina Square Shopping Mall is developing a new gourmet wing that will be branded as The Dining Edition. This 50,000 sq ft brand new gourmet dining zone is targeted for completion by June 2013.

As a "one-stop‟ food enclave that is easily accessible by both City Hall and Esplanade MRT stations, The Dining Edition will feature a myriad of quality gourmet dining options that will include 16 exciting mid-to-upscale restaurants, bistros, café bakeries, patisseries and coffee joints.

To date, The Dining Edition has secured 14 F&B tenants, which is about 90 per cent occupancy rate, ahead of its completion in June 2013. Says Ms Chan Yien Mei, General Manager of Marina Centre Holdings Pte Ltd: “We are very pleased with the strong interest from established local and international F&B operators for The Dining Edition.”

Design Concept
The Dining Edition is located at Level 2 of Marina Square Shopping Mall and is strategically placed at the North-West entrance to the mall with the highest volume of human traffic.

The new and impressive revamped façade will showcase an interesting lighting scheme to draw customers to The Dining Edition in the evenings. Once through the glass doors, the architectural style boasts an inviting area with a sleek and modern finish.

The skylight atrium, which is surrounded by ceiling-to-floor glass walls, will bask in natural light during the day. Several F&B restaurants at The Dining Edition also have the added attraction of sheltered al fresco dining areas that can easily accommodate close to 50 diners.

The second phase of Marina Square Shopping Mall‟s exciting and aggressive redevelopment plans features a brand new 200,000 sq ft retail wing that will be developed in the open space facing Marina Bay and Esplanade Theatres.

Construction costing around $80 million, work on this new retail wing will commence in the 2nd quarter of 2013 and is expected to be completed by 4th quarter of 2014.

Offering three levels of shopping space and rooftop dining venues, this new extension to the mall will see the presence of over 80 specialty stores, international lifestyle and fashion brands, as well as F&B concepts.

When completed, it will make up approximately 19 per cent of the total retail space at Marina Square Shopping Mall and offer an exciting shopping experience for shoppers, office workers and tourists alike.
