When Bhaskar Prabhakara arrived in Singapore more than 3.5 years ago from India, he and his wife explored many investment opportunities. Along the way, they found out that the available investment information are fragmented over various sources and is overall very messy and confusing. Thus, they decided to bring together the available investment opportunities, make it easy to understand, searchable and comparable—so that investors can make better investing decisions with the platform called WeInvest.net

WeInvest.net bills itself as the world’s first platform to offer a searchable database of restricted funds. It claims of having the largest resource of investment opportunities in Singapore, of investment product data from different asset classes including Real Estate, Restricted Funds, Mutual Funds and Time Deposits.

Backed by his seven years of experience in financial services industry, Bhaskar built WeInvest.net to help investors track, analyse & find investments that fit their investment appetite using smart technology, in a simple and unbiased manner. Bhaskar explained that in traditional wealth management relationships, the investor relies on the banker/broker to recommend a limited list of products in their portfolio. WeInvest, on the other hand, empowers investors with information to manage their wealth with over 20,000 investment products from around the world.

“We are in-effect allowing affluent individuals to get access to the support & widest set of resources, like a multi-Family office does, using technology and access to expertise,” said Bhaskar.

WeInvest has USD240,000 in funding and currently in the process of speaking with several investors to raise SGD 1.5million for its next stage of growth. With this funding, the company is looking to bring into action key activities such as doubling the size of the team, deploying a Portfolio Marketplace among other new features in the next 6 months - where users can learn from other successful investors, what their portfolios are, and pay to copy their trades—more to be disclosed once we are closer to completing its development.

Bhaskar added that they will be expanding their investment product mix to include more product categories and regional coverage.
