Singapore Exchange names Richard Teng Wee Chen as chief regulatory officer

His solid track record in managing the regulatory function and strong people management abilities earned him the post.

Singapore Exchange announced the appointmenty of Richard Teng Wee Chen as chief regulatory officer effective 1 January 2014.

Mr Teng, 43, was in charge of managing the regulatory activities of SGX and ensuring that regulatory duties are discharged in accordance with SGX's statutory mandate to operate a fair, orderly and transparent market.

He joined SGX in 2007 and is currently holding the role of deputy chief regulatory officer. Prior to SGX, Richard was with the Monetary Authority of Singapore from 1994 to 2007 where his last appointment was director of corporate finance, according to a Singapore Exchange report.
