DHL Express appoints Frank-Uwe Ungerer as Singapore managing director

APAC is vital to DHL Express' growth.

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider, has appointed Frank-Uwe Ungerer as Managing Director of DHL Express Singapore, with effect from 1 January 2016.

According to a release from DHL, in his new role, Frank-Uwe Ungerer will be based in Singapore, and reports directly to Ken Lee, CEO, DHL Express Asia Pacific. He succeeds Herbert Vongpusanachai, who has assumed the position of Senior Vice President of DHL Express Hong Kong & Macau.

Ken Lee, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific said: “Asia Pacific is an important growth engine for DHL Express, where Singapore’s role is especially strategic as the regional logistics and transport hub. We are very excited to have an outstanding leader like Frank join the Singapore team to further grow the business.

With 25 years of multicultural experience having worked in logistics across countries including Germany, Russia, China and Greece, Frank brings with him in-depth industry knowledge and valuable management skills to drive the team towards success and bring DHL Express Singapore to greater heights.”

Having joined DHL in 2003 as Country Manager of DHL Express Russia, Frank-Uwe Ungerer has since held various positions, most recently as Country Manager of DHL Express in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he was in charge of day-to-day regional operations for close to six years. During this time, he has led the business to exceptional performance and significantly strengthened its market leadership.
