SIA Group’s passenger traffic rises 14.1% MoM in March

The airline group carried a combined 2.7 million passengers during the month.

Robust travel demand continued to boost passenger traffic for the Singapore Airlines Group, carrying 2.7 million passengers combined in March.

Based on its latest operating results, the group’s passenger traffic is 14.1% higher than the February record and three times the number of passengers carried in March 2022.

The group’s passenger load factor (PLF) likewise increased, improving by 2.4 percentage points MoM and 34.5 percentage points YoY.

Whilst the group’s passenger segment continued to improve, its cargo business is still flying low.

The group’s cargo load factor clocked in at 55.1% or 17.4 percentage points lower year-on-year.

SIA Group’s cargo loads likewise declined, dropping 13.4% year-on-year due to weaker demand.

On the flip side, its cargo capacity expanded by 14.1% as increased passenger services resulted in higher belly-hold capacity.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
