MAS and CAD probe Seatrium on potential links to Brazil corruption case

The potential offences include corruption, drug trafficking, and serious crimes.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) are conducting a joint investigation into offences potentially committed by Seatrium and/or its officers under the Securities and Futures Act 2001.

The potential offences include corruption, drug trafficking, and other serious crimes (confiscation of benefits).

The investigation ties to “Operation Car Wash,” a decade-old bribery case in Brazil.

MAS and CAD have requested more information from Seatrium for the investigations to which the company has complied.

Seatrium advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution when dealing with its shares and consult their professional advisers if they have any doubt about the actions they should take.
