foodpanda's new MD to talk about the rise of food on the go in Singapore

Emma Heap believes technology is an enabler for F&B outlets.

Emma is the new Managing Director for foodpanda Singapore, the leading online food delivery marketplace in Southeast Asia. Prior to this, she worked for five years at Groupon after graduating from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In her role, Emma ensures sustainable and profitable relationships with customers and merchants.

Emma is part of the panel that will talk about Food Consumerism in the Age of the Millennials at the upcoming SBR Industry Insights Series. Here's more about Emma:

What are your previous experiences and positions held that contributed to who you are as an entrepreneur/businesswoman today?
During 5 years at Groupon, I held multiple positions across Account Management, Operations, Marketing and Product in the UK, Scandinavian, German and South African markets. These allowed me to experience first hand many critical aspects of growing a business from scratch to IPO, consolidating and aligning multiple markets post IPO and were great preparation for a leadership position within the foodpanda Group.

What are your key business philosophies?
To always put yourself in the customer's shoes, and ensure that the company always has a clear goal that everyone can align under. In our case at foodpanda it is to 'give the customer a great food ordering experience' and we strive to achieve this in every decision we take and everything we do.

Can you give us a glimpse of what you will talk about at the SBR Industry Insights Series?
Without giving too much away, I will discuss how technology, including that provided by foodpanda, is an enabler for f&b outlets to grow revenues especially when it can open up an entire new incremental revenue stream, such as food delivery.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
