Singapore’s SME Centres set for major upgrades by 2027
Enhancements are expected to be fully implemented by 2027 include expanded advisory services.
SME Centres across Singapore are undergoing a series of enhancements to provide more comprehensive and personalised support to local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Announced at the SME Centre Conference 2025, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry & Community, Culture and Youth, Ms Low Yen Ling stated enhancements are expected to be fully implemented by 2027 include expanded advisory services, better access to specialist resources, and physical upgrades to centre facilities.
Operated by five Trade Associations and Chambers in partnership with Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), the centres aim to serve as a more effective gateway to a broader ecosystem of business resources.
Business Advisors at the centres will be equipped to conduct in-depth reviews using new diagnostic toolkits.
These tools are designed to identify capability gaps and recommend specific strategies, initially focused on areas like internationalisation and digitalisation, with sustainability to follow.
For more complex business challenges, the centres will direct companies to appropriate specialist agencies. These include the SME Pro-Enterprise Office for regulatory matters, the Centre for the Future of Trade and Investment for trade-related issues, and the upcoming Centre for Enterprise Financing Advisory for financial support.
To streamline engagement, a unified appointment booking system has been introduced across all centres. Physical improvements are also underway, beginning with SME Centre@SMF, which now includes upgraded consultation facilities and a manufacturing solutions showcase.
