Wee Hur acquires Kowloon office tower for student housing project
The project will offer about 500 beds.
SGX Mainboard-listed Wee Hur Holdings Limited has acquired One Bedford Place, a Grade-A commercial building in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
In a statement, the group said it has bought the asset for an undisclosed sum.
It added that it plans to reposition the site into a 500-bed purpose-built student accommodation.
Operations are expected to commence in the first half of 2028, subject to the requisite regulatory approvals.
The 26-storey commercial building comprises two basement levels and has a total gross floor area of approximately 184,000 square feet.
The development is the group’s second student accommodation investment in Hong Kong, after Starvia by Y Suites on Fortress Hill, a 19-storey, 246-bed development at 151 King’s Road.
In a separate statement, Wee Hur said Starvia by Y Suites is expected to start leasing in the second half of the year.
