Temasek is world's most aggressive institutional investor in Chinese banks, reveals report

It holds US$17.96b in three banks.

Temasek is the world's single-largest foreign investor in Chinese banks, a report by SNL Financial revealed.

In total, Temasek owns over 22 billion shares valued at US$17.96b in three Chinese banks.

Temasek holds a 6.% stake in China Construction Bank Corp., worth US$11.98 billion as of March 31.

Another notable Temasek investment is in Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd., where it owns US$5.76 billion of shares.

Temasek's only Singaporean peer on the list is Eastspring Investments (Singapore) Ltd., which had investments totaling US$810.1 million in four Chinese banks as of March 31. Eastspring Investments is a unit of the U.K.'s Prudential Plc.
