Cordlife umbilical cord tissue banking tech still in clinical trial
Clarification issued regarding Singapore service.
In a release, Cordlife Group Limited (Cordlife) clarified that the technology associated with the processing and banking of umbilical cord tissue in Singapore is currently in the research / clinical trial stage of development.
"As such, any umbilical cord tissue stored by Cordlife in Singapore in connection with the new umbilical cord tissue banking service by Cordlife will only be used in the context of a research / clinical trial. The storage and banking of umbilical cord tissue services provided in Singapore is currently not licensed by the Ministry of Health, Singapore (MOH). The Group is presently licensed by MOH to provide cord blood banking services for autologous use," said Cordlife.
This additional information pertains to the May 9 announcement that Cordlife and Thomson Medical have launched the first umbilical cord tissue banking service in Singapore.
