Raffles Medical inks hospital project deal with China Merchants

The development will yield over 200 beds.

According to an SGX announcement, the Board of Directors of Raffles Medical Group announced that it has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent dated 31 January 2013 with China Merchants Shekou Industrial Zone, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Merchants Group.

The deal is to collaborate on the proposed development of an integrated international hospital with more than 200 beds in Shekou, Shenzhen, the People’s Republic of China.

The proposed hospital development is expected to provide high-end medical services in the Pearl River Delta region to foreigners and local residents.

The development is subject to finalisation of terms and relevant regulatory approvals.
