MOH extends Cordlife halt on new cord blood collection for 3 months

Initially, MOH barred Cordlife's activities for six months.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has extended its directive for Cordlife to halt collecting, processing, and storing new cord blood for three months.

The three months will begin on 15 June unless the Director-General of Health approves the notice sooner.

Cordlife's extension stems from unfinished AXP II System validation, procedure development, and staff training.

Based on MOH’s assessment, Cordlife will need about three months to complete the requirements to resume cord blood banking services.

MOH’s first notice to Cordlife barred the blood bank from performing any of the mentioned activities and providing new types of tests to patients for up to six months.
