Singapore adds $13.2m to pandemic fund

This brings the city-state’s total contribution to $26.4m (US$20m).

Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung has announced Singapore’s additional $13.2 m (US$10m) contribution to The Pandemic Fund at a pledging event held during the G20 Joint Finance and Health Ministerial Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This brings the city-state’s total contribution to $26.4m (US$20m).

The Pandemic Fund was launched in 2022 to boost global pandemic preparedness and response, especially in low- and middle-income countries, and strengthen the global health system.

During the event, Ong suggested an increased focus on global surveillance and less developed countries' pandemic preparedness to maximise the fund.
