Singapore to establish new communicable diseases agency in April

The CDA will focus on prevention, preparedness, detection, response, and enablement.

Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) will establish a new statutory board, the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), which will begin operations on 1 April.

The CDA will consolidate various public health functions related to the detection, prevention, and control of infectious diseases, which are currently spread across MOH headquarters, the Health Promotion Board, and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.

The agency will focus on five key areas, namely prevention, preparedness, detection, response, and enablement.
