Singaporeans' physical well-being at highest level since 2019

However, cost of living remains the primary stressor at 52%.

Physical well-being in Singapore reached its highest level since 2019, with 34% reporting good health, according to a 2024 Cigna Healthcare survey.

The survey also found that chronic conditions in Singapore were lower than the global average with only 45% having at least one chronic condition, compared to 56% globally.

Moreover, Singaporeans reached their lowest stress level in seven years. About 79% reported feeling stressed whilst 36% said their mental health was doing good compared to 32% last year.

Men reported higher vitality than women with male respondents more likely to prioritise physical health. Amongst generations, baby boomers have the highest vitality followed by Gen X and Gen Z, whilst Millennials record the lowest score.

However, the cost of living remains the primary stressor for Singaporeans with 52% citing it as a major source of stress.

High vitality individuals said they manage their finances better with 86% expressing optimism, compared to the 12% of low vitality individuals.

Cigna noted that the link between vitality and effective health management underscores the need for comprehensive support for people experiencing health conditions.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
