Synapxe officially opens innovation lab Terrarium

The lab will develop new HealthTech solutions and platforms.

Synapxe's new innovation lab Terrarium has officially opened.

Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung officially launched the lab on 18 September 2024, marking the opening of the national HealthTech agency's new location at Elementum in One-North.

The lab will develop new HealthTech solutions and platforms for the country’s healthcare needs.

One project showcased at Terrarium showed Synapxe collaborating with local startups to achieve the portable SoundEye Lasso Fall Detection, a contactless mobile device that detects and prevents falls.

A product of Synapxe’s HealthX journey, it was piloted at Singapore Christian Home (SCH). It is now being further developed for hospital use.

Synapxe also tapped into AI technology with Visual Pillbox, a collaboration between Synapxe and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH). It uses GenAI technology to generate customised medication intake schedulers, which aims to enhance patient education and adherence.

Another initiative that utilises GenAI is Health Kaki, created to personalise recommendations based on health goals discussed during consultations.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
